HANS is a volunteer-run organization and relies on the dedication and hard work of its board of directors, committee members, and other volunteers to co-ordinate the many wonderful events and celebrations it offers throughout the year. We have established the following committees but are always open to suggestions for new ones. If you feel HANS could benefit from another committee or work effort, please contact us!

Annual Herb Fair
Help plan and organize the Annual Herb Fair. Attend meetings, find workshop presenters, secure a location, and help with promotion as well as set up and registration, etc. People with good organizational skills welcome!
Politics & Standards
Help set standards of practice for practitioners. Liaise with Canadian Council of Herbalists Association, and stay current about natural products and regulatory issues. Of interest to professional herbalists and those interested in laws, regulations and standards.
Plant circles invite participation by everyone in the community—a sharing of experiences and ideas around plants. HANS aims to hold at least four plant circles per year— one during each season. Involves finding a host and a plant theme and then promoting the event through various channels, including the Listserve, website and Facebook.
Tasked with maintaining the website and Facebook page, monitoring emails and sharing plant information with the membership and larger community. Also includes communicating with media about HANS events, and creating promotional materials such as posters, ads and brochures.
Help develop an awareness of HANS and its activities through networking with like-minded groups and through educational offerings such as the annual professional development seminar. Help grow the organization by encouraging new memberships and new partnerships.
