Volunteer Opportunities

HANS is a volunteer-run organization and relies on the dedication and hard work of its board of directors, committee members, and other volunteers to co-ordinate the many wonderful events and celebrations it offers throughout the year. We have established the following committees but are always open to suggestions for new ones. If you feel HANS could benefit from another committee or work effort, please contact us!

Communications
This committee oversees the website, newsletter, membership enrollment and outreach, event promotion, and our social media accounts.

Professional Issues
This committee oversees liaising with the Canadian Council of Herbalists Association (CCHA), registering and maintaining practitioner memberships, hosting clinical round tables, lobbying for herbalists claiming insurance, organizing our own group liability insurance, creating and maintaining a new clinical case study database, maintaining professional standards, and monitoring any political developments that affect herbalists.

Events and Education
This committee oversees the annual plant sale, plant circles, speaker events, liaising with the Medicine of the People gathering, and any other educational opportunities hosted by HANS.
